OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to predict increased alcohol and tobacco use in Fukushima nuclear power plant (NPP) workers 3 years after a nuclear disaster. METHODS: Surveys were conducted in two postdisaster waves (Wave 1: 2 to 3 months; Wave 2: 32 months). Adjusted risk ratio (aRR) was computed to assess the covariates of increased alcohol and tobacco use in Wave 2. RESULTS: Increased alcohol use was associated with age of 29 years or less [aRR (95% confidence interval (95% CI): 1.26 (1.01 to 1.57)], major property loss [1.25 (95% CI 1.02 to 1.55)], and high posttraumatic stress responses (PTSRs) [1.34 (95% CI 1.08 to 1.67)] in Wave 1. Increased tobacco use was associated with age of 29 years or less [1.46 (95% CI 1.12 to 1.90)] and high PTSR [1.62 (95% CI 1.25 to 2.10)] in Wave 1 (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The workers' increased alcohol and tobacco use were predicted by major property loss (alcohol), age of 29 years or less, and high PTSR (alcohol/tobacco) in Wave 1. - Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone Receptor 2 Gene Variants in Irritable Bowel Syndrome

A classification was made of the verbs used in the evaluation criteria of a nursing practicum rubric according to Bloom's taxonomy. Out of the 163 verbs analyzed, 66.3% belonged to the cognitive domain, 27% to the affective domain, and 6.7% to the psychomotor domain. Subsequently, a content analysis was conducted on the differentiation of stages in the evaluation scale of exercises or practicums. As a result, five patterns were extracted: 'number of items,' 'percentage,' 'conditions,' 'verb changes,' and 'amount of advice.' Rubrics for exercises were created based on each of these patterns, and a correlation analysis was conducted with experienced evaluators. The results showed that the rubric with the highest correlation was the one using the 'percentage' format, with ICC(2, 2)=0.753. - Practice of children's grief support -Verification focusing on cause of death and resilience-

Children who have lost their parents due to accidents, disasters, suicides, etc. have trauma.Care for trauma requires cooperation with medical institutions, health centers, child guidance centers, etc.
Under the influence of the covid-19 pandemic, we started hold a grief program remotely. As a result, the participation of families with poor ICT environment was restricted. And this was greatly influenced by economic problems.
In the last two years, the number of young Japanese women committing suicide has increased, and the number of preschoolers losing their mothers has also increased.Until now, support for orphans has been centered on single-mother families, but in the future it will be an issue to consider support for single-father families. - Identification of Substances that Relate to Irritable Bowel Syndrome

How to cope with stress-related disorders is a crucial problem to solve in the modern society. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is an appropriate disorder to find a hint to do so. We verified the hypothesis that genetic polymorphism of substances regulating hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical axis may affect the phenotype of IBS via proteins/metabolites. Subjects were IBS patients and healthy controls. DNA was extracted from the blood. Genotyping, phenotyping and psycho-behavioral analyses were performed. These genotypes did not directly relate to IBS phenotypes. However, these genotypes were found to be associated with psycho-behavioral factors relating IBS. The hypothesis was thus supported. Findings in this study have scientific and social significance because they can be expanded to the other stress-related disorders.
