Highlights of Professional Work Experience
- 1980-2006: Worked, at Daiwa Securities, in the International Finance Department, Toronto Representative Office (Canada), Daiwa Securities America (US), Underwriting Department, Syndication Department, Daiwa Europe (UK), and Capital Markets Division, providing fundraising advisory services to both domestic and overseas companies and government agencies for the proposal, planning, underwriting, and sales of equity and bond issuances.
- 2006-2009: Served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the London subsidiary of Daiwa Securities Group and Head of Europe and the Middle East of the Group, where I was responsible for the overall management of the European business of a Japanese financial institution.
- 2010-2013: Served as Head of Nagoya Region of Daiwa Securities SMBC (a joint venture between Daiwa Securities and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) and also served as Managing Director of the Board of Daiwa Securities (appointed in 2012), where I was involved in overall management.
- 2013-2018: Served as Senior Managing Director of the Board of Daiwa Institute of Research, and was involved in overall management as well as in overseeing, as Head of Asia Business Development and Consulting, the company's Asia-related business and consulting operations.
